Earl Wallace Miller, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2023.
He was born on September 21, 1931, in Memphis, TN.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James Wallace Miller and Ina Mae Mackey Miller, his sister, Juanita Miller Rucker and brother-in-law, Roy Rucker.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Julia Marr Miller, his son, Mark Miller, his daughter, Ramona Miller Sanders (Jeff), and two grandchildren, Elizabeth Sanders and Jeffrey Sanders. He is also survived by his brother, Wayne Miller and sister-in-law, Joanne Miller.
Earl grew up in Memphis, TN. He graduated from Messick High School in 1949. He attended William R. Moore School of Technology and served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
After serving in the Air Force, Earl was a Master Plumber and Plumbing Engineer. He designed plumbing, heating, and air for many commercial buildings in the Memphis area and all over the United States.
Earl loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and was a true Servant of God. He was devoted to his family and loved being a husband, father and grandfather. He was an avid golfer for most of his adult life. The golf courses in the Mid-South knew him well. Earl loved to travel, the outdoors, fishing, and making beautiful hand-crafted walking canes.
Earl was a man of great faith, truth, integrity, wit and intelligence. He truly had a servant heart. He served as an Elder, Teacher and Bible Study Leader. He taught Sunday School and Bible Study Classes for 61 years. He was an active and beloved member of Advent Presbyterian Church.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Advent Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be held at 1:00 PM with the service at 2:00 PM and a reception to follow.
