Our Admissions Process
Enrolling as a Day Student, required steps:
- Complete online application.
- Admissions Exam, the exam will be provided digitally. You are exempt from taking the admissions exam if you submit ACT Scores of 18 or higher in math and 18 or higher in Composite ACT Score. Admissions Exam
Students enrolling in a Diploma or Associate of Applied Technology Degree program must pass an admission exam if they did not receive at least an 18 composite score and 18 math score on their ACT. The exam lasts about an hour and can be scheduled with an advisor. There is no fee to take the exam. Students are allotted two retakes. A third retake will require students to wait for the next enrolling term. Students enrolling in night-time certificate programs are not required to take the admission exam.
The admissions exam is modeled after a TABE (type D) test. Students may use a calculator
a. To enroll in machine shop courses, students must earn 88% on the math admissions
exam and 72% on the English admissions exam.
b. To enroll in automotive and welding courses, students must earn 80% on the math
admissions exam and 72% on the English admissions exam.
c. To enroll in industrial electricity, HVAC, and property maintenance courses, students
must earn 72% on both the math and English admissions exams.
Enrolling as a Night Student, required steps:
- New students must pay a $25 application fee and upon acceptance, students must pay a $55 registration fee at the start of the first trimester. Students must pay an $80 registration fee for all subsequent trimesters. A student may not be considered officially enrolled in a class or program until the registration fee is paid. Payment of the fee ensures a student’s spot in class.
- Complete online application.
- Pay $80.00 Registration fee (charged to the student every trimester).
- Submit a copy of your High School Transcript OR a copy of your GED.
- ALL steps above will need to be completed for acceptance and enrollment at Moore Tech.
